Cookham Matters is a blog I write in my spare time specifically for the community that I live in.  Cookham is a commuter belt village in Berkshire, just 25 miles from London.   But it still has a semi-rural village vibe with an active, engaged and inclusive community.  We are lucky enough to still have local amenities such as shops, a post office, doctors and dentists in the village – along with some really great pubs!  And, when you stop and speak to people as I often do, you soon realize that loads of really interesting people live here.  I created a blog that aims to support this community – it shares the hidden stories of our villagers, encourages people to use our local retailers and businesses and helps drive interest to the groups, clubs and activities that are an important part of creating a neighbourhood spirit.  The blog is mainly promoted by social medial with some organic search, and I am enjoying seeing the metrics improve as the coverage increases and more people know about it, and look to it as a resource.

Check out the more “relaxed” writing style here or follow the blog on Facebook or via the feed if village life is of interest to you!
